A Happy New Year

The month of January was named for the Roman god with two faces, Janus. He was pictured sitting in a doorway, looking at the past with one face, and at the future with the other. So the beginning of January is an appropriate time to pause for a moment to appreciate the past year, while looking forward to the new one.
