CLAMP TIE DYE KANTHA COLLECTION

Our Clamp Tie Dye Kantha pieces begin with one-of-a-kind textiles made from vintage saris—some in silk, others in cotton. Each fabric is first layered and hand-stitched using the traditional Kantha technique from Bengal, practiced for over 400 years.

After the Kantha is completed, we apply a clamp tie dye process inspired by the Japanese Itajime method, part of the shibori tradition dating back more than 1,200 years. The fabric is folded and carefully clamped between shapes before dyeing. Areas under pressure resist the dye, while exposed sections absorb color, creating soft, geometric patterns layered over the original sari prints.

Because each piece is folded and dyed by hand, the final pattern is never predictable—every garment is truly one of a kind.
