Maison Mieko, a brand defined by its love for vintage and recycled fabrics. All the patches are articulately placed hand stitched with threads of tonal shades deliberately leaving edges to fray. This table runner is handcrafted by our team of artisans, mostly women, using responsibly sourced materials. Maison Mieko aims to provide an innovative alternative in a world dominated by fast fashion.

Kantha embroidery is a centuries -old textile tradition from Bengal characterized by simple running stitches and is used to create each and every Maison Mieko product.
Natural variations due to handmade nature makes each piece unique.

PLEASE NOTE
· Kantha items are all hand-stitched and each is unique.
· Vintage saris may have small tears or blemishes even after washing and mending.
· If frayed edges unravel, trim any hanging threads without worry
KANTHA means simple stitching in Hindi. For more than 400 years, KANTHA quilts have been made in Bengal, India using many layers of old saris. Each is unique.
Hand Wash
Use a delicate care detergent in cold water without soaking, as this might release some dye. Press and wash without rubbing. Rinse the Kantha garment without wringing.
Machine Wash
Use a delicate care detergent in cold water, placing the Kantha garment in a mesh bag and washing it with a low-spin or delicate cycle. This will prevent snagging or twisting during the machine cycles.
Dry
Place the Kantha garment on a large, dry towel and roll it up to absorb excess moisture. Then lay the garment flat on a drying rack or hang it to air dry.
Hand Steamer / Iron
A hand steamer would be ideal, but if you are using an iron, avoid holding it directly against the garment and applying pressure. Keep the iron a few inches away from the garment and use only steam pressure.
